Congratulations to Shaw and Partners Race Team members Danielle Mckenzie and Cory Hill for taking out first place in their respective categories in the Shaw and Partners Hells Gates 38, a new race on the Australian Ocean Racing Series calendar.
Not for the light hearted, the 38km course from Mooloolaba to Noosa was a true test of endurance for all paddlers including some of the world’s best ocean ski racers with the offshore winds along the coast being replaced by a strong headwind after the competitors past Hells Gates with 4km to the finish.
In the men’s category Shaw and Partners Race Team member Cory Hill, who was in control of the race from the outset, took out the win in 02:56:01, comfortably ahead of Valentin Henot and Oscar Jones. In the women’s division Shaw and Partners Race Team member Danielle McKenzie won the race ahead of Rebecca Creedy and Phoebe Woodhouse.
Shaw and Partners extends a huge congratulations to all competing athletes and looks forward to the SA Ocean Series Race, being round five of the Australian Ocean Racing Series in Adelaide taking place on Saturday 20th August 2022.
