On Friday 23rd August 2019, Shaw and Partners Senior Investment Advisers John Wardman and Pasquale Lombardo, together with clients Rob Biancardi and Joe Kaderavek participated in the Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney 100km.
The Oxfam Trailwalker is an inspiring and challenging event that changes lives. It sees over 700 teams walk through beautiful, rugged bushland from the Hawkesbury to the Harbour. The Oxfam Trailwalker is not just a tough physical and mental challenge, it’s also a rewarding fundraising challenge. With every step participants take, teams raise money to help fight poverty around the world.
This year's event was a true trial of endurance that saw three members of the team retiring at about the ¾ mark. Congratulations to Rob who bravely finished the race in 31 hours.
It was a successful expedition. The team, named for the occasion “I thought they said 10kms”, raised over $11,122 with the Shaw and Partners Foundation contributing a generous $5,000 for a total of $16,122.
Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney raised just over $2 million during the event.
The Shaw and Partners Foundation was established to provide a platform for greater participation in community service. Since its inception in 2015 the Foundation has raised and donated over $2.5 million to charity.
