The Shaw and Partners Financial Services Summer of Surf Series returns for its highly anticipated 4th year, promising an exhilarating season of premier surf racing and community engagement across Australia’s most iconic beaches. Under the long-term sponsorship of Shaw and Partners Financial Services, this series continues to grow from strength to strength, attracting top-tier athletes and enthusiastic spectators from around the world while offering over $600,000 in cash and prizes.
“We are so proud to be heading into our fourth consecutive Shaw and Partners Summer of Surf Series and still have a further year on our original five-year commitment,” said Earl Evans, Shaw and Partners Financial Services CEO. We wanted to create a genuine career pathway for athletes and certainty that these events will be on for years to come. For the series to be offering over $600,000 in cash and prizes is something we are so proud of, as it provides the athletes the platform they have always deserved.”
The premier season kicks off with the Shaw and Partners Hayden Kenny Classic on November 1st and 2nd, followed by the Shaw and Partners Summer of Surf (Location TBC) on December 6th and 7th, the Shaw and Partners Manly Surf Open on January 17th and 18th, and culminates with the Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic on February 21st and 22nd. Events will once again showcase the most elite platform in surf sports history.
Summer of Surf Events manager Ben Cochrane welcomes the 2024/25 Premier Racing Schedule. “The key feedback from last year is we need to space out our premier events to not only bring out the best racing from athletes but also allow for the time to really celebrate the storylines as they come to light throughout the summer. We think our series structure is an absolute winner and to have a lot of last year’s overall point scores being decided in a sprint finish in the final race of the summer is really a testament to that. We look forward to rolling out an even more polished and professional series than last year and celebrating just how incredible and prestigious our series is.”
In a groundbreaking move, the series will introduce the inaugural Race One World Nipper Championships on Sunday, December 8th (location TBC), providing young athletes with an opportunity to showcase their talent and passion for surf sports on the biggest stage in the sport. Additionally, the Shaw and Partners Hayden Kenny Classic will also be offering an Under 11 – 14 racing component Sunday, November 3rd.
