The Summer of Surf World Cup wrapped in picture perfect racing conditions at Woolgoolga Beach with the first ever Shaw and Partners Summer of Surf broadcast on 7Plus.
It was Shaw and Partners Brand Ambassador Matt Bevilacqua who took honours in the open mens ironman race with a runner up finish in the board, stamping his authority as the worlds best short course athlete only two weeks after finishing second in the Shaw and Partners Financial Services Coolangatta Gold.
"I really felt like that ironman race was mine to win today and I executed my race plan perfectly. I am so stoked with how my season has started, particularly to race so well in the short course after spending the winter grinding for the Coolangatta Gold."
Meanwhile Alexandra Headlands Lana Rogers claimed the ironwoman crown and cementing herself as the one to beat this summer.
"I have just taken the pressure off myself and it's really working. I think I am in such a great place and ready for a big summer ahead".
