The Shaw and Partners Iron Series kicked off in style this past weekend, with defending champions and proud Shaw and Partners Brand Ambassadors, Ali Day and Lana Rogers, showing why they are still the ones to beat.
In the men’s elimination format, Ali Day continued his streak of excellence on Day 2, claiming victory after a relentless battle against rising stars such as Ryley Harland and Ethan Callaghan. Ali crossed the finish line first, ahead of Joe Collins and Conner Maggs, with his combined point score securing him the overall Round 1 champion title.
Reflecting on the win, Ali shared: "By the third race, you just have to give it all you’ve got. I’m stoked to take home another win and carry this confidence into Newcastle and the rest of the season."
In the women’s race, Lana Rogers showcased her resilience, grinding her way to the top in a nail-biting finish. A sprint up the beach secured her victory over Lizzie Welborn, with Tiarnie Massie rounding out the podium.
Lana said: "This win means so much. Coming into this Series, I wanted to refocus and rebuild, and this outcome gives me so much optimism for what’s ahead."
