Shaw and Partners Hells Gates 38 a new race on the Australian Ocean Racing Series calendar 01 Jun 2022

The Shaw and Partners Hells Gates 38 is a new race on the Australian Ocean Racing Series calendar, and it's already become a fan-favorite.

Over 300 ski paddlers are expected to converge to the Sunshine Coast on June 4 to compete for a slice of the rich $20,000 prize pool.

The 38km downwind race from Mooloolaba to Noosa presents a unique challenge to paddlers, with its long distance and tough conditions. But it's the stunning scenery that really sets this race apart.

Starting at the Mooloolah River mouth end of Mooloolaba Beach, the course takes participants past Old Woman Island, through the easternmost point of the Noosa Heads National Park before finishing on the picturesque Noosa Main Beach. The race is named for the Hells Gates rock formation that lies just offshore from the Noosa Heads National Park, which paddlers will pass about 4km from the finishing line.

Shaw and Partners Hells Gates 38 is a great opportunity for experienced ski paddlers to test their skills against some of the best in the sport, including Shaw and Partners Race Team members and ICF World Champions Cory Hill and Danielle McKenzie.

With its stunning location and challenging conditions, the Shaw and Partners Hells Gates 38 is set to become a classic race. For further details or to register please visit https://www.hellsgates38.com.au/
