Ord Minnett’s head of natural resources is trading Grosvenor Place for Chifley Tower after two years on the job.
Shaw and Partners has added Damien Gullone, a geologist by trade, to its emerging companies team. Gullone will report directly to head of capital markets Conrad Anderson.
While at Ords, Gullone led capital raisings for gold and metals explorer Aurelia Metals, BCI Minerals, salt and potash play Magnetic Resources and Latrobe Magnesium, among others. He joined the stockbroker after stints at Patersons Securities, then Canaccord, and has direct experience at major gold companies Newmont Mining and Carrick Gold.
Shaws has also nabbed Ord’s natural resources analyst and former PwC critical minerals senior associate Joe Hansen as part of the move.
“Damien brings a rare blend of technical qualification, in-field experience and successful deal origination track record,” Anderson told Street Talk.
“Joe is at the start his career and has already acquired some good experience with the skills to go far. We’ve no doubt they will make a great addition to our business.”
The Sydney-headquartered stockbroker, which has been vigorously adding to its wealth division, has been across several capital raisings for the mining, technology and industrials sectors this year. It ruled off a $30 million placement for supercomputing service provider DUG Technology, a $20 million raise for metal manufacturing specialist Titomic and a $120 million raise for divisive defence tech company DroneShield, among others.
