Damian Rigney Head of Mergers & Acquisitions

Damian has over 20 years investment banking and funds management experience in Australia and the UK. Prior to joining Shaw and Partners, Damian was Head of Transactions for the Property and Infrastructure division of Colonial First State Global Asset Management, a global team responsible for infrastructure and real estate asset transactions as principal and on behalf of its funds. Prior to Colonial, Damian was an Executive Director with Gresham Partners, Sydney and prior to that, a Director at ING Barings, London. Damian has had extensive experience in public and private markets mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory assignments in Australia and the UK and Europe.  Throughout his career, Damian has acted as both adviser and principal (at Colonial) providing a hands-on perspective of both sides.  In addition, Damian has worked across a diverse range of industries throughout his career. Damian is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate of FINSIA.

Conrad has over 15 years of experience providing equity capital market and strategic corporate advice. Conrad has held Executive Director roles with Ord Minnett, Investec Bank, Argonaut and was most recently Head of Equity Capital Markets with Petra Capital.

George BouAntoun

George BouAntoun Director, Corporate Finance

George joined Shaw and Partners in October 2021, with over 16 years’ experience in funds management, investment banking, institutional banking, capital markets and engineering.

 

George has advised clients across all facets of corporate finance, strategy, M&A, acquisition finance; both equity and debt, through direct, private and public capital markets. Prior to joining Shaw, George spent two years with 360 Capital in building out their funds management platform across alternative assets. Prior to this he spent just over seven years in Commonwealth Bank’s Institutional Banking & Markets Division as a Director, initially advising clients on Equity Capital Markets transactions and then within the Real Estate Coverage team advising on corporate strategy, acquisitions, capital allocation, treasury and debt financing for some of Australia’s largest listed and private real estate enterprises. George began his career in Investment Banking advising on M&A and corporate finance at Citi before moving to Goldman Sachs as part of the Real Estate and Infrastructure Investment Banking team.

 

George has a Bachelor of Computer Systems Engineering and Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney.

David Paton

David has over 15 years of financial advisory experience in Australia, specialising in metals & mining, oil & gas and infrastructure sectors across ECM, M&A and DCM. Prior to joining Shaw and Partners, David was a Director at Luminis Partners and prior to that worked at Citi, Morgan Stanley and Macquarie Capital in their natural resources investment banking divisions. David has a Bachelor of Metallurgical Engineering (Honours) from UNSW.

Andrew Milsom

Andrew Milsom Director, Corporate Finance

Andrew has over 15 years experience in corporate finance and has advised on more than US$30 billion of successful ECM and M&A transactions. Whilst currently focused on high growth and tech-enabled businesses, Andrew’s experience spans a broad range of sectors including building materials, construction, consumer, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, leisure, real estate, retail, services, technology, telecoms, transport and utilities. 


Prior to Shaw and Partners, Andrew was with Bombora Investment Management where he focused on investments in high-growth businesses. Prior to Bombora, Andrew was a Director in Investment Banking with Luminis Partners in Sydney and HSBC in London, Hong Kong and Sydney, where he originated and executed financial advisory mandates for blue-chip corporate and Private Equity clients.

Andrew graduated with a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester, UK; is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales; and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
 

Grace Belsito

 Grace joined Shaw and Partners in 2003 and has over 15 years’ equities experience. At Shaw and Partners, Grace has worked on a wide range of primary and secondary transactions equity market transactions. Prior to Shaw, Grace worked at UBS, BNP and Westpac in various roles within their equities divisions. Grace has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from Finsia (formerly the Securities Institute of Australia).

Robert Hallam

Rob joined Shaw and Partners in October 2015, with over 5 years’ experience in corporate finance and accounting. Rob has experience in advising clients in a range of industries with a focus on financial services. Prior to joining Shaw, Rob was Assistant Manager in KPMG Channel Islands’ Advisory team where he focussed on small and mid-cap mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and corporate advisory. Prior to KPMG, Rob worked in Deloitte’s financial services team in Cape Town and Dubai. Rob is a Chartered Accountant, has passed all three levels of the CFA Program, and has a Bachelor of Business Science (Finance) from the University of Cape Town.

Christopher Ziomek

Christopher Ziomek Associate Director, Corporate Finance

Chris has over 10 years of corporate finance experience, working across a wide range of industry sectors including TMT, Transport & Infrastructure, and Consumer, Retail and Healthcare. Chris was most recently a Vice President in Investment Banking at Bank of America, where he was focused on the origination and execution of a number of buy-side, sell-side, and capital markets transactions. Prior to Bank of America, Chris worked at CIMB and Origin Capital Group in their investment banking and corporate finance divisions.  Chris has a Bachelor of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Macquarie University, is a CFA Charterholder and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand. 

Ben Gribble

Ben has over 7 years of corporate finance experience in Australia and the UK, working in M&A and capital markets across a wide range of sectors including financial services and industrials. Prior to joining Shaw and Partners, Ben worked at Houlihan Lokey in Sydney and London, and Credit Suisse in their investment banking division in London, where he executed financial advisory mandates for corporate and institutional clients. Ben commenced his career at KPMG in Melbourne.

 

Ben has an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from Monash University, and he is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Gauthier Merlin Associate, Corporate Finance

Gauthier joined Shaw and Partners in November 2021, with over nine years’ experience in M&A Transaction Services and Audit & Assurance in France and Australia. Prior to joining Shaw and Partners, Gauthier was an associate director in Deloitte’s M&A Transaction Services team focusing on IPO capital raising advisory and dual-track M&A/IPO processes. Gauthier worked across a wide range of sectors including Fintech, SaaS, FMCG and Infra for some of Australia’s largest conglomerates and private equity funds. Gauthier has a Master’s degree in audit, control and advisory from Lille’s university school of management.

 

Christopher Jones

Christopher Jones Analyst, Corporate Finance

Chris joined Shaw and Partners as an Analyst in June 2021, having recently completed his Master of Applied Finance from the University of Western Australia. Chris has two years’ capital markets experience, having worked on the dealing desk at DJ Carmichael prior to its takeover from Shaw and Partners. Chris has worked across a wide range of industries, including mining, energy and biotech. He holds a Master of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Commerce; and completed an internship at Woodside Energy.

Jake Burgess

Jake joined Shaw and Partners in July 2020. Jake has a Bachelor of Commerce (Dean’s Scholar) in Finance and Accounting from the University of Wollongong and is currently a CFA Program level 2 candidate.

Lawrence joined Shaw and Partners in October 2021, with three years of experience working in Deloitte’s M&A transaction services, assurance and advisory teams. Lawrence’s experience spans over a range of sectors including industrials, mining and private equity.  Lawrence completed a Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology Sydney (Accounting & Finance) and is a provisional member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
