Damian Rigney Head of Mergers & Acquisitions

Damian has over 20 years investment banking and funds management experience in Australia and the UK. Prior to joining Shaw and Partners, Damian was Head of Transactions for the Property and Infrastructure division of Colonial First State Global Asset Management, a global team responsible for infrastructure and real estate asset transactions as principal and on behalf of its funds. Prior to Colonial, Damian was an Executive Director with Gresham Partners, Sydney and prior to that, a Director at ING Barings, London. Damian has had extensive experience in public and private markets mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory assignments in Australia and the UK and Europe.  Throughout his career, Damian has acted as both adviser and principal (at Colonial) providing a hands-on perspective of both sides.  In addition, Damian has worked across a diverse range of industries throughout his career. Damian is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate of FINSIA.


Edward Loneragan Director, Corporate Finance

Edward Loneragan Director, Corporate Finance

Edward has over ten years of experience in investment banking in Sydney and London. He has an extensive background in providing advice to clients on public and private mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, due diligence/investment evaluations, corporate/strategic reviews and related activity.  During his career in investment banking, Edward has advised a range of corporate and private equity clients on transactions situated across Australia, Asia, Europe and USA. Prior to working with Shaw, Edward was at Nomura in Australia and UBS in London.  Edward has also worked for KPMG Corporate Finance in Sydney and London. Edward is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Sydney.


David Kells Director, Corporate Finance

David joined Shaw and Partners in April 2015, with over 15 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance and accounting. David has extensive experience in advising clients on identifying, analysing and executing merger and acquisition transactions, together with capital markets experience. Prior to joining Shaw, David managed his own boutique corporate advisory business following roles as Vice President in Investment Banking at Nomura Australia (primarily covering the consumer, retail and healthcare sectors), and as an Associate Director at Wilson HTM focussed on a range of mid-market M&A and ECM assignments. David is a Member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants, is a Member of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and has a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney.


George BouAntoun Director, Corporate Finance

George BouAntoun Director, Corporate Finance

George joined Shaw and Partners in November 2018, with over 14 years’ experience in investment banking, institutional banking, capital markets and engineering. George has advised clients across all facets of corporate finance, strategy, M&A, acquisition finance; both equity and debt, through direct, private and public capital markets. Prior to joining Shaw, George spent just over seven years in Commonwealth Bank’s Institutional Banking & Markets Division as a Director, initially advising clients on Equity Capital Markets transactions and then within the Real Estate Coverage team advising on corporate strategy, acquisitions, capital allocation, treasury and debt financing for some of Australia’s largest listed and private real estate enterprises. George began his career in Investment Banking advising on M&A and corporate finance at Citi before moving to Goldman Sachs as part of the Real Estate and Infrastructure Investment Banking team. George has a Bachelor of Computer Systems Engineering and Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney.

 Grace joined Shaw and Partners in 2003 and has over 15 years’ equities experience. At Shaw and Partners, Grace has worked on a wide range of primary and secondary transactions equity market transactions. Prior to Shaw, Grace worked at UBS, BNP and Westpac in various roles within their equities divisions. Grace has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from Finsia (formerly the Securities Institute of Australia).


Jeremy D’Sylva Associate Director, Corporate Finance

Jeremy D’Sylva Associate Director, Corporate Finance

Jeremy joined Shaw and Partners in January 2016, with over 8 years’ experience in corporate finance. At Shaw and Partners, Jeremy has worked on and led a range of domestic and cross border ECM and M&A transactions in the industrials, resources, technology, healthcare and agriculture sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Jeremy was at Azure Capital  where he acted on sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, equity raisings, strategic placements and mezzanine debt advisory. Prior to Azure, Jeremy worked for a diversified ASX 200 company in an in-house M&A role running the complete transaction cycle from valuation through to integration. Jeremy completed his studies at UNSW under scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Taxation in 2007.

Rob joined Shaw and Partners in October 2015, with over 5 years’ experience in corporate finance and accounting. Rob has experience in advising clients in a range of industries with a focus on financial services. Prior to joining Shaw, Rob was Assistant Manager in KPMG Channel Islands’ Advisory team where he focussed on small and mid-cap mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and corporate advisory. Prior to KPMG, Rob worked in Deloitte’s financial services team in Cape Town and Dubai. Rob is a Chartered Accountant, has passed all three levels of the CFA Program, and has a Bachelor of Business Science (Finance) from the University of Cape Town.

Nicholas joined Shaw and Partners in January 2018 after two years employment as an Investment Analyst at Centuria Capital Group, an ASX-listed specialist investment manager with over $4.5 billion in funds under management. During his studies, Nicholas completed an internship at a boutique investment management firm. Nicholas is a member of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney and is currently undertaking his Chartered Financial Analyst program.


Jock Rayner Analyst, Corporate Finance

Jock Rayner Analyst, Corporate Finance

Jock joined Shaw and Partners in July 2018 after six months as an Analyst at Axiom Forensics, an independent accounting firm which specialises in forensic accounting, investigative and independent expert witness services. During his studies, Jock completed internships at AMP and Westpac in their Investment teams. Jock has a Bachelor of Business, Extended Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney and is currently undertaking a Masters of Corporate Finance at the University of New South Wales.
