Damian Rigney Head of Mergers & Acquisitions

Damian has over 20 years investment banking and funds management experience in Australia and the UK. Prior to joining Shaw and Partners, Damian was Head of Transactions for the Property and Infrastructure division of Colonial First State Global Asset Management, a global team responsible for infrastructure and real estate asset transactions as principal and on behalf of its funds. Prior to Colonial, Damian was an Executive Director with Gresham Partners, Sydney and prior to that, a Director at ING Barings, London. Damian has had extensive experience in public and private markets mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory assignments in Australia and the UK and Europe.  Throughout his career, Damian has acted as both adviser and principal (at Colonial) providing a hands-on perspective of both sides.  In addition, Damian has worked across a diverse range of industries throughout his career. Damian is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate of FINSIA.

Conrad has over 15 years of experience providing equity capital market and strategic corporate advice. Conrad has held Executive Director roles with Ord Minnett, Investec Bank, Argonaut and was most recently Head of Equity Capital Markets with Petra Capital.

David Paton

David Paton Director, Corporate Finance

David has over 15 years of financial advisory experience in Australia, specialising in metals & mining, oil & gas and infrastructure sectors across ECM, M&A and DCM. Prior to joining Shaw and Partners, David was a Director at Luminis Partners and prior to that worked at Citi, Morgan Stanley and Macquarie Capital in their natural resources investment banking divisions. David has a Bachelor of Metallurgical Engineering (Honours) from UNSW.

Andrew Milsom

Andrew Milsom Director, Corporate Finance

Andrew has over 15 years experience in corporate finance and has advised on more than US$30 billion of successful ECM and M&A transactions. Whilst currently focused on high growth and tech-enabled businesses, Andrew’s experience spans a broad range of sectors including building materials, construction, consumer, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, leisure, real estate, retail, services, technology, telecoms, transport and utilities. 


Prior to Shaw and Partners, Andrew was with Bombora Investment Management where he focused on investments in high-growth businesses. Prior to Bombora, Andrew was a Director in Investment Banking with Luminis Partners in Sydney and HSBC in London, Hong Kong and Sydney, where he originated and executed financial advisory mandates for blue-chip corporate and Private Equity clients.

Andrew graduated with a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester, UK; is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales; and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
 

Grace Belsito

 Grace joined Shaw and Partners in 2003 and has over 15 years’ equities experience. At Shaw and Partners, Grace has worked on a wide range of primary and secondary transactions equity market transactions. Prior to Shaw, Grace worked at UBS, BNP and Westpac in various roles within their equities divisions. Grace has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from Finsia (formerly the Securities Institute of Australia).

Robert Hallam

Robert Hallam Associate Director, Corporate Finance

Rob joined Shaw and Partners in October 2015, with over 5 years’ experience in corporate finance and accounting. Rob has experience in advising clients in a range of industries with a focus on financial services. Prior to joining Shaw, Rob was Assistant Manager in KPMG Channel Islands’ Advisory team where he focussed on small and mid-cap mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and corporate advisory. Prior to KPMG, Rob worked in Deloitte’s financial services team in Cape Town and Dubai. Rob is a Chartered Accountant, has passed all three levels of the CFA Program, and has a Bachelor of Business Science (Finance) from the University of Cape Town.

Christopher Ziomek

Christopher Ziomek Associate Director, Corporate Finance

Chris has over 10 years of corporate finance experience, working across a wide range of industry sectors including TMT, Transport & Infrastructure, and Consumer, Retail and Healthcare. Chris was most recently a Vice President in Investment Banking at Bank of America, where he was focused on the origination and execution of a number of buy-side, sell-side, and capital markets transactions. Prior to Bank of America, Chris worked at CIMB and Origin Capital Group in their investment banking and corporate finance divisions.  Chris has a Bachelor of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Macquarie University, is a CFA Charterholder and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand. 

Alan Nguyen

Alan Nguyen Analyst, Corporate Finance

Alan joined Shaw and Partners in November 2019 with over 4 years’ experience in transaction advisory and accounting. Prior to joining Shaw, Alan worked within KPMG’s Deal Advisory team, providing transaction services to a range of private equity and corporate clients. Alan has also previously worked within the Financial Services team at KPMG. Alan has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, is a Chartered Accountant and has passed Level II of the CFA Program.

Dean Van Kwawegen

Dean Van Kwawegen Analyst, Corporate Finance

Dean joined Shaw and Partners as an Analyst in October 2019 after two and a half years of Institutional Banking experience with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Whilst with CBA, Dean worked within the General Industrials Coverage team advising on corporate strategy, capital management and debt financing for some of Australia’s largest listed and private industrials companies. Dean has a Bachelor of Science in Physiology, and a Master of Applied Finance from the University of Western Australia.
