Damian Rigney Head of Mergers & Acquisitions

Damian has over 20 years investment banking and funds management experience in Australia and the UK. Prior to joining Shaw and Partners, Damian was Head of Transactions for the Property and Infrastructure division of Colonial First State Global Asset Management, a global team responsible for infrastructure and real estate asset transactions as principal and on behalf of its funds. Prior to Colonial, Damian was an Executive Director with Gresham Partners, Sydney and prior to that, a Director at ING Barings, London. Damian has had extensive experience in public and private markets mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory assignments in Australia and the UK and Europe.  Throughout his career, Damian has acted as both adviser and principal (at Colonial) providing a hands-on perspective of both sides.  In addition, Damian has worked across a diverse range of industries throughout his career. Damian is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate of FINSIA.

Conrad has over 15 years of experience providing equity capital market and strategic corporate advice. Conrad has held Executive Director roles with Ord Minnett, Investec Bank, Argonaut and was most recently Head of Equity Capital Markets with Petra Capital.

David Kells

David joined Shaw and Partners in April 2015, with over 15 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance and accounting. David has extensive experience in advising clients on identifying, analysing and executing merger and acquisition transactions, together with capital markets experience. Prior to joining Shaw, David managed his own boutique corporate advisory business following roles as Vice President in Investment Banking at Nomura Australia (primarily covering the consumer, retail and healthcare sectors), and as an Associate Director at Wilson HTM focussed on a range of mid-market M&A and ECM assignments. David is a Member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants, is a Member of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and has a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney.

Grace Belsito

Grace Belsito Equity Capital Markets

 Grace joined Shaw and Partners in 2003 and has over 15 years’ equities experience. At Shaw and Partners, Grace has worked on a wide range of primary and secondary transactions equity market transactions. Prior to Shaw, Grace worked at UBS, BNP and Westpac in various roles within their equities divisions. Grace has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from Finsia (formerly the Securities Institute of Australia).

Robert Hallam

Rob joined Shaw and Partners in October 2015, with over 5 years’ experience in corporate finance and accounting. Rob has experience in advising clients in a range of industries with a focus on financial services. Prior to joining Shaw, Rob was Assistant Manager in KPMG Channel Islands’ Advisory team where he focussed on small and mid-cap mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and corporate advisory. Prior to KPMG, Rob worked in Deloitte’s financial services team in Cape Town and Dubai. Rob is a Chartered Accountant, has passed all three levels of the CFA Program, and has a Bachelor of Business Science (Finance) from the University of Cape Town.

Jock Rayner

Jock Rayner Analyst, Corporate Finance

Jock joined Shaw and Partners in July 2018 after six months as an Analyst at Axiom Forensics, an independent accounting firm which specialises in forensic accounting, investigative and independent expert witness services. During his studies, Jock completed internships at AMP and Westpac in their Investment teams. Jock has a Bachelor of Business, Extended Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney and is currently undertaking a Masters of Corporate Finance at the University of New South Wales.

Alan Nguyen

Alan Nguyen Analyst, Corporate Finance

Alan joined Shaw and Partners in November 2019 with over 4 years’ experience in transaction advisory and accounting. Prior to joining Shaw, Alan worked within KPMG’s Deal Advisory team, providing transaction services to a range of private equity and corporate clients. Alan has also previously worked within the Financial Services team at KPMG. Alan has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, is a Chartered Accountant and has passed Level II of the CFA Program.

Dean Van Kwawegen

Dean Van Kwawegen Analyst, Corporate Finance

Dean joined Shaw and Partners as an Analyst in October 2019 after two and a half years of Institutional Banking experience with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Whilst with CBA, Dean worked within the General Industrials Coverage team advising on corporate strategy, capital management and debt financing for some of Australia’s largest listed and private industrials companies. Dean has a Bachelor of Science in Physiology, and a Master of Applied Finance from the University of Western Australia.

Harry Bethwaite

Harry Bethwaite Analyst, Corporate Finance

Harry joined Shaw and Partners as an Analyst in January 2020, after two years' experience in property consulting. In addition, Harry spent 3 years as a project manager throughout China for a Hong Kong based Venture Capital firm. Harry has a diploma of business from the University of Technology Sydney and is on track to finish his Bachelor of Business in Finance later this year.
