On the weekend the Shaw and Partners Adelaide office participated in the Bloody Long Walk raising over $20,000 for the Mito Foundation.
For their massive effort, walking and jogging in a 35km challenge raising funds to cure Mito, Team Dot has now received a matching donation from the Shaw and Partners Foundation. This takes their total donation to over $43,000, which is awesome for the team and the Mito Foundation! The Mito Foundation support people affected by mitochondrial disease (mito), a debilitating and potentially fatal disease that reduces the ability of the mitochondria to produce energy and sustain life.
This is a very special cause close to the heart of Suzie Georgiou, as her daughter Dot Georgiou passed away in 2020 from this disease aged only 7 months. We know these funds will be used to fund research into desperately needed treatments and cures for this devastating disease.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
A message from Shaw and Partners SA State Manager Fraser MacLeod: “The Shaw and Partners Foundation enables causes we are passionate about to deliver massive impact through fundraising matching. On behalf of Suzie and all the team here in SA – many thanks to all within our nationwide network who helped get us to this point. It’s a bloody long walk, but you guys are bloody awesome!”
Have fun. Live life. Give back.
