We are extremely proud of Stephen Johnston, Shaw and Partners ACT State Manager, for representing Shaw and Partners at the Vinnies CEO Sleepout last week and raising money for the St Vincent de Paul Society.
With just a sleeping bag and three pieces of cardboard, Steve braved one of the coldest and longest nights in Canberra to help raise awareness of people experiencing homelessness.
Message from Stephen Johnston: The reality is that every night thousands of Australians experience homelessness - the reality check for me last night was hearing the stories from front line volunteers and case workers sharing their stories of the people who are affected. With the support of personal donors and the Shaw and Partners Foundation I have been able to raise $20,800 so far. To everyone who donated thank you for your contribution, it is greatly appreciated. To anyone that wants to add to my tally please click on the follow link to donate.
The event nationwide raised close to $8.4 million, with the ACT raising over $960,000. Money raised will go to services who provide rough sleepers with emergency accommodation, clothes, blankets, food and water.
Congratulations on a fantastic effort. Read the full story in the Canberra Times https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/7303264/
