Shaw team take home the Coolangatta Gold Men's Open 08 Oct 2017

This weekend Shaw and Partners sponsored the winning team in the Open Men’s division at the Coolangatta Gold.

The race is a gruelling one, involving a 41.8km distance that covers the Gold Coast strip from Coolangatta to Broadbeach and back. It is broken up into five components being; a 21km surf ski paddle, followed by a 2.1km run, a 3.5km swim leg, a 6.1km board and concluding with a 7.1km run.

Cory Hill paddled the surf ski leg, taking out the best time on the day. Shaw and Partners has sponsored Cory for the best part of a year now and we look forward to following his journey as we come into the 2017/18 surf ski race season. Liam Brewis partook in the 2.1km and 7.1km running legs also taking out the best time on the day, Jackson Maynard the swimming leg and Lachlan Lansdown the boarding leg.

The Coolangatta Gold is one of the premier events in the sport of Ironman/Surf Life Saving; reinforcing Shaw and Partners' sponsorship of the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club and broader affiliation with Surf Life Saving Australia.

Shaw and Partners Co-CEO, Allan Zion said that Surf Life Saving was one of the most important aspects of Australian coastal life and that Shaw and Partners is pleased to be associated with Surf Life Saving Australia, particularly as a means of giving back to the community in which we live and work.
